I was introduced to Shemica, three years ago when, my son with autism, and I were moving to Houston. Having her as an advocate was the best decision I ever made as I would not have been able to navigate the school system, those ARD meetings, and IEP without her. She is very knowledgeable and understands how the system works, and is always researching to make sure that all basis points are covered. She was able to advocate for services for my son that I never knew were possible. She is always available for discussions and I would definitely be using her services as long as she is able to continue to assist in the process of making my son achieve his true potentials.

Shemica Allen, M.S. is the secret weapon I didn’t realize I needed. As a new family to Texas we encountered so many obstacles with my elementary child on an IEP and ran out of resources personally until we found Personalized Learning Solutions via a Facebook search. Let me say she will forever stay on the payroll. Her knowledge, experience and expertise is unmatched. She has also been an asset to the educators in the district introducing new tools/ programs used by other districts to help special need educators and students succeed. She shows up to every meeting prepared with facts. Thank you for being with us on this journey. My child is more successful because of your support.

Ms. Allen has been my daughter's advocate since we moved to Texas in 2019. She has not only made such a difference for my daughter in her diligent review of her IEPS as well as attending and advocating for my daughter at her ARDs, she also has given me the confidence to go into ARD meetings knowing that she has my daughter's best interests in mind. She knows her stuff and she is the bomb. BEST MONEY I HAVE EVER SPENT.

This is a long time coming. Shemica really helped my Son and I during his junior and senior year in high school. She provided the help I thought was non-existent. She provided advice, resources, emotional support (although not sure if this is part of her services), and hope to navigate the complexity of having to deal with reluctant and dismissive school administrators. I wished I would have known her way before my Son's junior year in high school. She suggested accommodations that would help my Son graduate. Post high school, my Son still needs resources and she suggested the TWC Vocational Rehabilitation. She is Heaven-sent, Phenomenal, Professional, Fully-Knowledgeable of the IDEA processes, Understanding, and Efficient. Without her, I do not think I would have been able to navigate the red-tape and complexity of the barriers school systems for students with disabilities. I am forever grateful and indebted for the services she provided. There are Angels (in human form) walking this Earth!

We are extremely grateful for all the hard work and support Shemica Allen has provided. She has time and time again proven herself to be a very effective Advocate. She is a true professional who has an excellent working knowledge of Texas special education rules and regulations. Shemica has represented our family in multiple ARD meetings and is always professional, courteous and prepared to fight for our best interests. Her attention to detail and extensive knowledge of IEP implementation and goals and objectives has helped level the playing field for our family. With Shemica as our Advocate we are no longer at the mercy of the school district that on multiple occasions have proven themselves to be incompetent, unprofessional and underhanded during ARD meetings and implementing our students IEPs. I’ve posted in my various groups regarding my good news, thought I would share with everyone else; Special needs parents and teachers will understand what this means. Nick will finally get to be in a general education class. All day!! This is huge! This has been a 6 yeat battle for me. God gave Favor to us for this exciting day. I’m an emotional wreck. My sixth-grader has had an IEP since preschool, and I've always hesitated to get an advocate because I was afraid the folks at the school would become defensive or take it the wrong way. I couldn't have been more wrong! Shemica started working with us just before this school year started, and she's been absolutely amazing. She is experienced, knowledgeable, level-headed, and so fun and easy to work with! When we first started, I sent all of my child's paperwork (8 years worth -- could fill a library) to Shemica, and she read every bit of it and came up with a plan for services and accommodations. She talked with me on the phone several times before our ARD, and was so thorough, never in a hurry. It was such a huge relief -- no one at the school has time to pore over that packet, and I'm never quite sure what I should be asking for. At the ARD, the school folks seemed relieved to have had all this work done for them. I was worried about an adversarial meeting, but it was the exact opposite. Shemica has helped me understand our IEP and my rights, which has given me the confidence to collaborate much more effectively with my child's teachers. I used to feel like I was always missing something or should be doing more for my child, but not anymore, thanks to Shemica! Our lives have changed, and my child is reaping the benefits! Thank you many times over, Shemica!

Where do I begin?? Shemica Allen has been a blessing for our family! I am so grateful that God led me to her when I was desperately in need of an advocate for my nonverbal grandson who has a diagnosis of autism. I found Ms. Allen to be very professional, devoted, and one who truly loves our kids. She was very approachable and accommodating when we first met. I loved that! On the day of my grandson's ARD, she was well prepared for a meeting that lasted all day!! Her fees are more than reasonable and our communication is ongoing. I told her she is stuck with us for life!! I would recommend the services of Shemica Allen to anyone who is in need of an advocate for their child with disabilities. Shemica Allen is an incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and through Advocate. Her dedication to success coupled with her awesome people skills enable her to navigate the complicated world of ARD's and IEP's with ease. Due to her experience and intuition, Shemica is able to anticipate and counter the school districts proposals/plans to ensure your child is not denied services and receives a comprehensive IEP with outstanding accommodations as well as comprehensive goals and objectives that hold the school accountable. Shemica conducts an extensive prep prior to an ARD and provides the parents a written document that outlines the plan that will be executed in the ARD. Shemica prepares the parents prior to the ARD. As a parent you will feel the most prepared you have every been prior to entering into an ARD. Anyone who secures Shemica Allen as your Advocate should thank God for the incredible blessing. By far the best Advocate in the Dallas area if not all of Texas.

Hiring Shemica as our advocate was absolutely the best decision we made. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She is not only incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate, but she worked tirelessly on behalf of our son in order to get him what he needs. She left no stone unturned from tapping in to her vast database of resources to leveraging her experience in the school system. She was always there to answer every question we had and the advice she gave us was always spot-on. If we have any concerns in the future we would not hesitate to hire her again. She gets results and is a pleasure to work with. We will forever be grateful to her for everything she did to help us secure an appropriate placement for our son and thereby unleashing his potential.
