As the school year has come to an end or is approaching the end the proper organization of your child’s educational records is key for a smooth start & transition to the next school year. Below are some important tips:
1. Secure your documents in some type of file storage-file cabinet, file box, or a 3 ring binder works best. It is easy to carry to IEP/504 meetings & conferences.
2. Have at least the last 2 IEPs or 504 Plans.
3. Have the most current FIE or Full Individual Evaluation completed by the school district & any other evaluations completed by outside providers.
4. Have copies of student work samples from previous school years to document progress & if needed use as documentation for regression/recumbent purposes.
5. Have a vision statement for your child.
