As the school year has started or is about to start please keep in mind if your child is going to need compensatory services as a result of school closures or a decrease in services from last spring. To support the need for compensatory services you will need data showing regression and discussion should take place on a case by case basis with your ARD/IEP committee.
Also remember school districts should not be making a general determination for compensatory services. i.e. saying all students who missed speech services will get 5 additional hours of speech per week. Determination of compensatory services must be data driven, based on student need, and made individually for each student.
