The Government Accountability Office (GAO) said in a report released this week shows schools drastically under counted the use of restraint or seclusion. GAO indicated that the Education Department needs to take “immediate action” to remedy the situation.
More than 70% of schools told the Education Department that they did not have a single instance of restraint or seclusion during the 2015-2016 school year.
